The Junior Chamber was formally established in 1920 as an organization that would help young people develop their skills as leaders by tackling civic problems, the Grand Rapids Junior Chamber have been a force for positive change in our community since 1929.
All our events are run by our members, who have regular full-time jobs but who are dedicated to improving their city. Through their Junior Chamber memberships, our members develop essential skills and connections that serve the throughout their lives and careers.
Our contributions include hosting PGA Champions Tour events, Santa Claus Parades, Special Olympics Basketball Tournaments, Holiday Shopping Tours, providing underprivileged children in Grand Rapids the opportunity and funds to purchase Christmas gifts for their families, and Easter Egg Scrambles for community children, among many others.
Junior Chamber alumni include leaders such as past Presidents Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton, Domino Pizza mogul Tom Monaghan, Miss America Kay Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson and basketball great Larry Bird.
